Emphasizing zero waste solutions, and locally sourced ingredients, Yumba delivers freshly prepped meals to people in the Toronto area. Their previous partnership with Crowdlinker saw a 5X increase of their MMR. Now looking to expand into the B2B space, Yumba and Crowdlinker entered into a new venture to create “Yumba for Business”.

Companies had begun utilizing Yumba’s website to supply employees with subsidized meals, leaving administrators feeling overwhelmed. Our aim was to develop a purpose-built solution to service this growing market, whilst mitigating the risk of developing a new product from scratch.
Manually processing these larger orders was costing Yumba administrators over 70 hours each week. They needed to act quickly to scale their business and dominate this emerging market.
The project required more resources than Yumba could support in-house, and so the team entered into a mutually beneficial venture partnership with Crowdlinker.
We approached this project with the ethos of building a whole new business. To do this, we began by developing a business presentation to articulate the value proposition, and align all board members and stakeholders.
Market research and customer outreach helped to validate some of the features and secure the first Beta clients. A comprehensive competitor analysis allowed us to get into the mindset of how the product would look and operate.
We built a solution that could manage split processing of payments, allowing businesses to implement a customizable subsidy for their employees.
Introducing approval processes around permissions ensured that newly on-boarded employees were properly managed through a unique process of authentication.
Crowdlinker was able to bring strong product and technological leadership to this project, relieving pressure for the Yumba CEO.
